2026 Farmers Insurance Open

Jan. 29-Feb. 1. San Diego hosts one of the county’s biggest events of the year: the Farmers Insurance Open. The esteemed PGA Tour competition returns to the famed Torrey Pines Golf Course, which sits atop La Jolla’s famous coastal cliffs overlooking the Pacific. Lunar New Year at SeaWorld

Jan. 31.- Feb. 16. SeaWorld San Diego welcomes the Year of the Horse with festive celebrations on Saturdays and Sundays, Jan. 31-Feb. 15 (plus Friday, Feb. 13 and Monday, Feb. 16). Guests will enjoy performances such as lion and dragon dancing presented by Three Treasures Cultural Arts Society; traditional Japanese taiko drumming with La Jolla Taiko; Korean and Chinese cuisine; and a Chinese New Year Red Envelope filled with surprises for each guest. San Diego Padres Fan Fest 2026

Jan. 31. Get revved up for Padres baseball season at this annual celebration at Petco Park, presented by SeatGeek. Festivities include the Padres Foundation “Garage Sale” where fans can score one-of-a-kind Padres items; shopping for 2026 merch at the Padres New Era Team Store; “Fun on the Field” activities for kids; and Q&A sessions with Padres players. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. (Select members and partners get early entry at 9 a.m.)  Admission is free; but guests must claim a ticket in advance (see website). 100 Park Blvd., East Village. Details

Solana Beach Farmers Market

Feb. 1. A Certified San Diego County Farmers Market, the weekly Solana Beach Farmers Market offers organic and locally certified fruits and vegetables, flowers, plants, sauces, fresh juices, breads, baked goods, meats, chocolates and pantry items; as well as handcrafted soaps, candles, jewelry and more. There’s even a food court featuring eateries such as East African Cuisine, Global Tacos Grill, Saucy Slice 619, Salem’s Smoothies, Yakitori Sawa & Sushi, 28 Thai, and Children of the Kettle Corn. Doc Holliday’s

Now Open. Old Town welcomes Doc Holliday’s, an outlaw-inspired saloon by restaurateur Pietro Busalacchi. Be transported to the Wild West with its blue velvet seats, tassel-trimmed curtains and a long bar, with food and cocktails served all day. Breakfast includes chicken ‘n’ waffles and corned beef hash; with hearty burgers, fried chicken and lobster mac ‘n cheese for lunch and dinner; plus milkshakes and libations like Georgia on My Mind with Jim Beam bourbon. Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House

Now Open. With a loyal following in the Bay Area, Los Angeles and Irvine, Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House has opened its first San Diego location on Convoy Street. Shabu-shabu lovers will be in Japanese hot pot heaven with its all-you-can eat, 90-minute experience, with several premium tiers from which to choose. Silver and Gold are great, but the Diamond Tier is a favorite—comprising Japanese A5 wagyu, Australian wagyu, specialty dishes and premium seafood. Balboa Theatre: The Simon & Garfunkel Story

Jan. 31-Feb. 1. Staged at the Balboa Theatre, Broadway San Diego presents The Simon & Garfunkel Story. The acclaimed concert-style theater show profiles one of the more successful folk-rock music duos of all time, beginning with their start as two young kids from Queens, New York. San Diego Museum Month

Feb. 1-28. Entering its 37th year in 2026, San Diego Museum Month is back, presented by the San Diego Museum Council. Art and culture lovers can access more than 70 participating museums; plus cultural attractions, historical sites, aquariums, zoos and gardens—all for half-off admission. These include the Museum of Making Music (pictured), 17 Balboa Park museums and gardens, Maritime Museum of San Diego, USS Midway Museum, San Diego Botanic Garden and many other venues. North Coast Rep: Louisa Gillis

Through Feb. 8. Don’t miss the world premiere of Louisa Gillis at North Coast Repertory Theatre.
