Magnolia Tap & Kitchen Opens In The Gaslamp Quarter
Hitch a ride to Magnolia’s grand opening on the “Magnolia Bandwagon,” a horse-drawn carriage riding throughout the Gaslamp July 12-14.
An homage to the Magnolia Saloon of yesteryear, which was located on the same block of Sixth and E streets in the 1880s, Magnolia Tap & Kitchen is celebrating its grand opening this weekend, July 12-14, with drink specials, live entertainment and one very special historical throwback—a horse-drawn carriage with live music, aptly called the “Magnolia Bandwagon,” will ride through the streets of the Gaslamp, open for patrons to hop on and hitch a ride to Magnolia. The link to the past resonates inside the restaurant as well, paired with modern touches everywhere from the cozy faux fireplace to the cocktails, which are crafted entirely from house-made ingredients. The dainty menu is packed with Southern spirit, including such dishes and sides as habanero corn bread, a braised short rid sandwich (pictured) and the show-stopping pecan pie served with bourbon whipped cream. Catch the “Magnolia Bandwagon” Friday and Saturday night from 8-11 p.m. The celebration lasts from noon-midnight. 624 E St., Gaslamp Quarter. 619.255.0925. magnoliasd.com
