100 Wines Uncorked in Hillcrest
Soulful and European-inspired, 100 Wines is a rustic wine den offering big wines and small plates.
The newest edition in the Cohn Restaurant Group empire, 100 Wines is an homage to David and Lesley Cohn’s original stomping ground. 100 Wines combines rustic and upscale touches to create an elegant yet unpretentious atmosphere in the Cohn’s first Hillcrest establishment since the original Corvette Diner. The 2,500 square foot apothecary-inspired space is reminiscent of an old wine bistro that might be found tucked away on the historic cobblestone alleys of Europe. True to the restaurant’s namesake, a vast selection of eclectic wines are available, with an emphasis on Mediterranean varietals as well as some California selections. Wines are offered by the glass or bottle alongside a full bar for those who prefer other than the fermented grape. The small plates menu boasts a heavy influence from Spain, France, Italy and other Mediterranean countries with items such as bone marrow with brandied cherries and preserved lemon, brown butter seared scallops with blueberry reduction and ravioli with pecorino, pear and butter sage sauce. Dine in, on the front alfresco patio, or on the back terrace complete with an oversized fireplace. 1027 University Avenue, Hillcrest. 619.491.0100. 100wineshillcrest.comÂ
