Mardi Gras in the Gaslamp
The annual Fat Tuesday celebration in the Gaslamp unmasks a new look on Feb. 12.
San Diego’s longest running Mardi Gras street festival is shaking things up this Fat Tuesday with an extravaganza unlike any to came before it. Featuring headlining artists Ozomatli and Z-Trip, Mardi Gras 2013 embraces the musical traditions that have long been part of the Gaslamp Quarter and elevates them event to the next level with a diverse line up playing on four different stages as well as outrageous roving entertainment and musical processions. Elaborate light and art projections will create a whimsical atmosphere throughout the streets of the Gaslamp to plunge partiers into a Mardi Gras wonderland of fantasy, masks, illusions, entertainment and of course, beads.
