Seal beach’s intimate 320 Main long ago set the benchmark in Orange County for cutting edge, creative mixology. Owners Jason and Rebecca Schiffer have all but perfected the art of re-imagining popular cocktail recipes, tinkering with the standard cocktail repertoire and making them their own.
Now, the dining room menu matches the level of the drink menus with the appointment of Chef Jamie Carrano, an alum of the prestigious kitchens of Thomas Keller and Charlie Palmer. Chef Carrano’s new menu speaks to the successful ideas behind the drinks program featuring a mouth-watering offering of accessible dining, utilizing impeccable technique and the freshest and finest of ingredients. Appetizers include bone marrow with braised oxtail marmalade and pickled red onion; pork belly mac ‘n’ cheese and grilled octopus salad with white beans, pickled jingle bell peppers and parsley vinaigrette. For entrees, a must-try is the duck pot pie made with duck confit, sweet potato, carrot, celery root and puff pastry–it’s so good, you’ll be scraping the dish clean, trying to get every last bit. Another gem is the pan seared Scottish salmon on a bed of black lentils and parsnip puree. On Sundays, try Chef Carrano’s Sunday Supper with rotating weekly specials of family style dining. Open Tuesday –Sunday from 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m. 320 Main St., Seal Beach, 562.799.6246. 320main.com
