10th Annual Tastemakers of Orange County
Sept. 3. Tastemakers of Orange County is OCAPICA’s annual culinary event that celebrates Asian and Pacific Islander inspired cuisines created by over two dozen distinguished chefs throughout Orange County. While guests savor their dishes, they can also enjoy live entertainment, groovy tunes from a local DJ, and participate in an opportunity drawing to win unique items and experiences. Orange International Street Fair
Sept. 4-6. The Orange International Street Fair is OPT’s largest signature event, welcoming approximately 300,000 visitors over Labor Day weekend. For three days, the streets surrounding the historic Orange Plaza become an international celebration filled with cultural food streets, live entertainment, arts and crafts, commercial exhibitors, and community organizations. The event is centered around Plaza Park in Old Towne Orange, and extends for several blocks. More Information
Spend the Weekend on the Water at Newport Dunes
Sept. 4-7. Newport Dunes fills the holiday weekend with watersports, food trucks, live music and outdoor movies along the Back Bay. Visitors can rent kayaks, paddleboards, pedal boats and electric Duffy boats or purchase admission to the resort’s inflatable aquatic park. Tunes at the Dunes runs Friday through Sunday, while movies screen on the beach Friday and Saturday at dusk. The music and movies are free, but parking and recreational activities cost extra. Harmony in Light: Music and the Art of Frank Cuprien

Co-curator Dr. Kelly Tucker explores the musical life of Frank Cuprien, a trained pianist and tenor whose deep connection to music shaped the light, rhythm and mood of his paintings. was described as a “clairaudient artist,” a term suggesting heightened inner hearing, an ability to hear and shape music inwardly before it is played, with sensitivity to balance, rhythm and tone.
