La Jolla Art & Wine Festival
Oct. 10-11. The 18th annual La Jolla Art & Wine Festival draws 45,000 attendees. Mr. Jack O’Lanterns Pumpkin Patch
Through Oct. 31. It’s pumpkin season! Pick your preferred pumpkin patch experience with a variety of offerings at Mr. Jack O’Lanterns. The San Diego International Film Festival marks its 25th anniversary, solidifying its reputation as one of SoCal’s most important film festivals—featuring world-class screenings, star-studded red carpets and community events. Lost Temple Tavern at Margaritaville Hotel

Swells Sourdough Bakery
Now Open. Founded by Pamela and Erik Ramos Peraza (who started selling their breads at a farmers market table in 2022), Swells Sourdough Bakery is now open in Little Italy. The bakery centers on naturally fermented, organic sourdough breads. Each loaf—made with bleach- and bromate-free, California stone-milled flour—is given 36 to 48 hours to ferment, yielding a crackling crust and flavor-rich center. OMA: Kaloust Guedel Exhibit
Opens Oct. 10. At Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA), the immersive exhibition, Kaloust Guedel: Where Time Bends Softly is on view through March 14, 2027. Historical techniques (dating back to ancient Sumerian civilization) interplay with contemporary artistry in the form of colorful, tactile, fiber-centric creations by artist Kaloust Guedel. The collection becomes a multidimensional experience, using both material contrasts and complementary elements to explore the relationship between positive and negative space.
