Extended Through Aug. 2. Cygnet Theatre stages Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic American musical, Oklahoma!, through Saturday. In it, we follow cowboy Curly and farm girl Laurey, who are in love but struggle to openly admit it amid the 1906 Oklahoma Territory land rush. Expect epic songs such as “People Will Say We’re in Love” and “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’.” (The show marks Cygnet’s last staging at Old Town Theatre before the outfit relocates to its new home at Liberty Station, The Joan.) 4040 Twiggs St., Old Town, 619.337.1525. cygnettheatre.org

North Coast Rep: A Gentleman’s Guide…

Extended Through Aug. 24. The winner of the 2014 Tony Award for “Best Musical,” A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder has been extended at North Coast Rep. Monty Navarro is a poor but ambitious nobody in early 1900s London. When his mother dies, he learns he is ninth in line to become Earl of Highhurst, and only eight members of the obnoxious, aristocratic D’Ysquith family stand in his way. Mysteriously, each family member dies off in morbidly hilarious ways. 987 Lomas Santa Fe, Suite D, Solana Beach, 858.481.1055. northcoastrep.org
