All-American Car Show XXIV

July 15. Automobile aficionados are invited to a fun day by the bay. Presented by MOPAR Club San Diego, the All American Car Show spotlights myriad makes and models of vehicles, all lined up along the waterfront at Embarcadero Marina Park North. The fun includes trophies for categories including “People’s Choice” and “Best Car Owned by Active Duty or Reservist”; along with food trucks and other vendors, opportunity drawings and more. “Sea Party” UNITE! Music Festival

July 15. In conjunction with San Diego Pride Week—and with 100% of the proceeds benefiting San Diego Pride—Happy Dark Productions presents the “Sea Party” UNITE! Music Festival at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park. San Diego Pride Festival

July 15-16. Join tens of thousands of people from San Diego and across the country in Balboa Park for the city’s largest two-day event: the 2023 San Diego Pride Festival. The all-day fun includes dancing, live music and entertainment across four stages; along with community education/resource booths, cultural presentations, food trucks and more. San Diego Pride Parade

July 16. Among the largest Pride parades in the U.S., the annual San Diego Pride Parade draws 300,000 LGBTQ supporters. Don your rainbow attire and grab the sunscreen for a festive day of floats, performers, local dignitaries and marching bands. The parade route begins at the Hillcrest Pride flag at the corner of University Avenue and Normal Street; continues west along University; then turns south onto Sixth Avenue; then left onto Balboa Drive; and ending at Quince Street—near the entrance to the San Diego Pride Festival. 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Free. Bastille Day at Wolfie’s Carousel Bar

Through July 14. In celebration of Bastille Day (July 14), French-inspired outpost Wolfie’s Carousel Bar is offering specialty Parisian menu items through Sunday—available for brunch, lunch and dinner. July 15. Cardiff-by-the Sea’s weekly certified farmers market has been going (and growing) strong since its debut last March. Flamenco Dinner Show at Cafe Sevilla

July 15. Spice up your Saturday night with dinner and flamenco dancing at this beloved Spanish eatery (a Gaslamp Quarter staple since 1987). Crime and Punishment, A Comedy

July 15-Aug. 13. The Old Globe theater presents Crime and Punishment, A Comedy at its Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre. The Globe-commissioned, world-premiere play—written by Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen (pictured), and directed by Greenberg—is a comedic reimagining of Russian author Fyodor Dostoevsky’s 1866 novel, Crime and Punishment, complete with five actors who play more than 50 vivid characters. Oceanside Plein Air Festival

July 15-22. Plein air painting (i.e., painting that is completed “in the moment,” outside on location) is the star of the second biennial Oceanside Plein Air Festival, presented by Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA). Watch up to 350 participating artists as they capture various destinations and scenery of Oceanside—from the coastline to cityscapes to the historical Mission San Luis Rey. SD Art Advisory Gallery

Now Open. Alexander Salazar and Darcy Kempton have opened a new fine art gallery, SD Art Advisory, in Mission Hills. Salazar, a seasoned gallerist and fine artist, and Kempton, an interior designer and curator, who sought to create an energizing and inspiring space in the community for art to thrive.
