Tequila Trail 2012
Trail around Old Town’s restaurants and bars for sample  of agave spirits paired with culinary specialties at the annual Tequila Trail.
The annual Spirits of Mexico Festival, North America’s largest celebration of agave-based and other Mexican spirits, kicks off this year in San Diego with Tequila Trail on Sunday, September 9. Blaze through the streets of Old Town sampling selections of agave spirits paired with culinary specialties from the participating restaurants other Mexican cuisine connoisseurs and tequila lovers. This year’s Tequila Trail travels to Barra Barra Saloon, Café Coyote, Miguel’s Cocina, Old Town Mexican Café, El Fandango, The Cosmopolitan, Casa Guadalajara, La Pinata and Rockin’ Baja Lobster and  includes an appearance by local celebrity and NBA Hall of Famer, Bill Walton. Sponsored by Cointreau, attendees will sample the finest tequilas, mescals, sotols, bacanoras and other Mexican spirits as well as savor culinary specialties from 12 of Old Town’s celebrated eateries. 3-6 p.m. $35/pp. Old Town San Diego. oldtowntequilatrail.com.
