Japanese Brush Painting Art Show

Feb. 19. The Friends of Taka Sumi-e art society will exhibit traditional Japanese-style brush paintings, called sumi-e, as part of the Mission Trails Regional Park concert series. From 1-4p.m., the art show will accompany the soothing and haunting sounds of the shakuhachi, or Japanese bamboo flute, played by Mary Lu Brandwein. The show includes live demonstrations of brush painting by Takashi and his advanced students.
