The Pool House at Pendry

Reopened. Guests can once again enjoy poolside lounging, alfresco dining and breathtaking views of downtown San Diego at Pendry. The Pool House will operate at a reduced capacity, with daybeds and tables set up according to social distancing standards. Hornblower’s Summer Whale Watching

June 26. Hornblower’s ever-popular Summer Whale Watching experiences will restart Friday, giving guests the chance to marvel at migrating whales, plus dolphins and other sea life, as they pass by San Diego’s coastline. The half-day excursion runs from Friday through Monday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. To provide reassurance in the current pandemic environment, Hornblower has expanded its SafeCruise by Hornblower program, building on already stringent sanitation processes, to incorporate further health-driven measures to guard against the spread of Covid-19 and other viruses. $55+. Coronado Ferry Landing

Switchfoot Live Stream Concert

June 27. Join Grammy-winning rock band Switchfoot for its 16th annual BRO-AM live-stream digital concert in support of at-risk kids in San Diego and other communities across the nation. Reopened. The San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park have resumed operations, with limited shopping, dining and other experiences available at both parks. During the initial reopening phase, each park will operate with limited on-grounds capacity and reduced hours of operation. Jeune et Jolie

Reopened Alfresco. Carlsbad’s beloved French bistro Jeune et Jolie has reopened exclusively as an outdoor pop-up restaurant, repurposing its 1,200-square-foot State Street parking lot into an enchanting outdoor dining experience—complete with well-spaced-out seating; dangling twinkle lights overhead; and large potted trees, plants and landscaping offering privacy from the street. Diners can expect a five-course tasting menu crafted by partner/executive Chef Andrew Bachelier. Owner John Resnick is calling the pop-up experience Jeune et Jolie: Starry Night. Reopened. The Pearl Hotel’s Charles + Dinorah has reopened for dine-in and takeout, unveiling a design refresh as part of The Pearl’s recently completed renovation. Highlights from the new summer menu include grilled octopus with charred habanero vinaigrette, orange, fennel, endive, and  chorizo; and breaded eggplant tikka masala with coconut yogurt and fresh herbs. Through June 27. The San Diego Watercolor Society has announced a virtual art exhibition, Just Add Water, available through June 27. Though the Gallery at Liberty Station is currently closed, viewers can check out 95-plus original watermedia paintings. Human Error (Online)

Through June 29. North Coast Repertory Theatre is continuing Season 38 with the West Coast premiere of Human Error, a comedy by Eric Pfeffinger. Theater lovers can enjoy the comedic play from the very comfort of their own homes. In Human Error, an unintentional mistake forces two couples—one liberal and one conservative—to meet and establish a relationship with binding implications.
