Orange County’s culinary creativity continues to expand with Chef Nael Taki’s charming new bistro.
Creative doesn’t even begin to describe executive chef Nael Taki’s menu at the Wine Bistro in Dana Point. Chef Taki’s unique style transforms traditional dishes into modern cuisine. A prime example is his approach to chicken ‘n’ waffles. Chef Taki takes a favorite dish and elevates it to the gourmet level using blue cheese waffles, southern fried chicken and blue cheese maple syrup. Other noteworthy entrees include peanut encrusted scallops served with chipotle berry jam and marshmallow risotto and the slow-roasted, braised short rib with caramelized onion jam and truffle oil. At $20 per person, Wine Bistro’s Monday night wine dinners are more than reasonable. Expect three flavorful courses perfectly paired with a glass of wine from vineyards around the world. Wine Bistro also hosts regular wine maker’s dinners—a great way to discover fabulous wines while enjoying a good meal. Arrive early for complimentary wine tasting on the patio from 5:30-6:30 for Wine Tasting Wednesdays.
