San Diego Weekend Events Roundup November 8-11

San Diego Asian Film Festival
Starts Nov. 8. The 19th annual event includes more than 150 films, including features, shorts and animation from Asian artists worldwide. The fest concludes with an awards gala hosted by Lou Diamond Phillips. See website for show times and ticket prices. Various locations.




Belmont Park’s Fall Fest Military & Veterans Weekend
Nov. 9-12. Veterans, active military and dependents can take advantage of half-priced wristbands for Belmont Park rides and attractions, including the Giant Dipper roller coaster. Don’t miss the pie eating contest Saturday at 5:30 p.m. F-Su 5 p.m.-close, all day Monday. 3146 Mission Blvd., Mission Beach.




Del Mar Racing

Heather McDonald
Nov. 9-10. Most known for regular appearances on Chelsea Lately, Heather McDonald is a comedy writer, producer and performer who doesn’t hold back. Her Showtime stand-up special I Don’t Mean To Brag is available now on Netflix. 21+. 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. shows both nights. $20 GA, $50 VIP ticket includes preferred seating and a meet and greet. San Diego Gulls
Nov. 9-10. The San Diego Gulls take on the Colorado Eagles during Military Weekend. On Friday, score a camo hat giveaway and $2 Bud Lights during the game. Saturday, don’t miss the pre-game tailgate from 5-7 p.m. Both games start 7 p.m. Valley View Casino Center, 3500 Sports Arena Blvd., Midway District.

Winter Cocktails at Puesto
Now available. Winter cocktails have arrived at Puesto to keep you warm and cozy through January. Moët & Chandon Wine Dinner at THE MED
Nov. 8. THE MED’s Wine Dinner Series showcases its culinary team’s extraordinary talent. Saint Archer x Madison on Park Beer Cocktail Launch
Nov. 8. Madison on Park partners with Saint Archer Brewing Company to create two beer cocktails that will launch for one night only. Made with two of Saint Archer’s best-selling beers, these beer cocktails will appeal to anyone who favors craft cocktails and those who are die-hard beer connoisseurs. Pitmasters Veterans Day Barbecue
Nov. 11. San Diego Beer Week
Through Nov. 11. Join in what many call “the best time of the year” and celebrate the art of craft beers during this annual event featuring upwards of 500 individual events such as a lineup of tastings, festivals, brewery tours, cheese pairings and beer dinners.
