San Diego Beer Week
Nov. 1-10. This ten-day countywide festival showcases local breweries, restaurants, pubs and other businesses with ties to the craft beer community. Enjoy 10 days jam-packed with special pourings, dinner pairings, tasting events, meet and greets with brewers and total tap takeovers. Día de los Muertos
Nov. 1-2. Celebrate the unity of life and death on Day of the Dead, which is considered by many cultures to be the most important holiday of the year. Old Town itself will become the Mercado and more than 50 local businesses, museums, and shops will create traditional Día de los Muertos altars that can be toured. Craft activities such as papel picado making, skull face painting, paper flower making, mask making and hat decorating are also perfect for family fun. 1-9 p.m. Free. Carlsbad Village Faire
Nov. 3. Take in the beauty of Carlsbad’s seaside community while browsing unique booths, indulging in delectable eats and enjoying family entertainment. The festival hosts more than 900 vendors selling everything fathomable, including clothes, accessories, plants, household products, art, antiques and home decor. San Diego Chargers
Nov. 10. In their only November home game, the Bolts host their division rival, the Denver Broncos. When the two met last season, Denver was able to recoup from the Chargers’ 24-0 lead at the half and pull out a win. Surely the Bolts will have that in mind as they seek a win under the new leadership of head coach Mike McCoy, who spent the last four seasons in Denver. Veterans Day Parade
Nov. 11. Nov. 12-17. The Tony Award-winning musical by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber tells the story of Eva Perón, Argentina’s First Lady. Nov. 16. A Los Angeles based comedian, actor, writer and producer Whitney Cummings co-created and co-wrote the CBS comedy “2 Broke Girls” and wrote, produced and starred in her autobiographical sitcom “Whitney,” which aired on NBC. Silver Strand Half Marathon
Nov. 17. Walk, run, or skate along the Strand from Coronado to Imperial Beach at this half marathon and 5K race for all levels of athletes. Half marathon participants will be awarded a medal and a long sleeve technical t-shirt. San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival
Nov. 20-24. SoCal’s largest wine and food fest is a five-day epicurean experience that includes cooking classes, “The Vault” tasting of reserve wines and a star-studded celebrity chef luncheon. The Grand Tasting is the festival’s largest event and features libations from 200 wineries and breweries from around the globe, food from 70 of San Diego’s most notorious chefs and restaurants, arts and the festival’s “Chef of the Fest” competition. Nov. 24. This 67th annual parade offers a colorful day of family fun to kick off the holiday season.
