Concierges enjoyed a lovely opening reception in the LAB’s Living Room complete with treats from Gypsy Den, Zipangu and Habana. Guests explored the shops at the LAB before embarking on a pedicab ride across Bristol to the CAMP where more creative retailers and delicious bites from ECCO, 118 Degrees, Taco Asylum and East Borough awaited. Wonderful prizes were raffled off at Mesa which provided signature appetizers and cocktails for guests to enjoy. View Full Event

Royal Hawaiian
On July 19, Royal Hawaiian invited an intimate group of concierges to sample the eatery’s ambiance, along with small plates and signature cocktails. Concierges shared a pupu platter of ahi poke, ribs, beef skewers and coconut shrimp before diving into pan-seared scallops and spare ribs with mashed potatoes. The group also enjoyed the restaurant’s signature drinks, including the sunset cocktail and the ever-popular lapu lapu. View Full Event

On July 13, concierges were invited to check out the new Katsuya in Laguna Beach. SBE Director of Marketing Tammy Billings and Katsuya GM Jenny Morinaka hosted an enjoyable reception in the venue’s enclosed patio overlooking PCH. The group dined on tray-passed sushi rolls, creamy rock shrimp and crispy rice with spicy tuna and sipped white grapefruit cosmopolitans. OCCA Meeting
On July 11, the OCCA held its monthly meeting at Tustin Ranch Golf Club. After enjoying appetizers and a putting contest on the outdoor patio, concierges and corporate members gathered in the meeting room. Tustin Ranch GM Steve Plummer and Director of Sales Mike Larsen, along with Yvette Burke from Enterprise Rent-A-Car welcomed the crowd. Representatives from Paradiso Yacht Charters, Clint Carroll Surf School and Cirque du Soleil were the featured speakers. View Full Event

Only Make Believe
On July 6, concierges headed to Laguna for the annual Festival of Arts/Pageant of the Masters preview night event. The party started at Sorrento Grille, where concierges sampled the eatery’s tasty menu. Then, concierges grabbed a gift bag from Areo and hopped aboard a luxury bus from Best Chauffeured to Festival of Arts. After docent-led tours of the festival, the concierges took their seats for this year’s Pageant of the Masters performance, “Only Make Believe.” View Full Event

Art-A-Fair & Tivoli Too
On June 29, a group of Laguna Beach concierges spent an evening exploring one of the city’s summer festivals, hosted by Art-A-Fair’s Kathy Westervelt and Joyce Kasprzyk and Bobby Fader from Tivoli Too. After learning the ins-and-outs of the festival from the artists themselves, the group sat down to a three-course meal that included an entree of steak and lobster tail and mango cheesecake for dessert. An Evening of Art & Music
On Tuesday, May 17, Laguna Beach Conference & Visitors Bureau and the Sawdust Art Festival hosted concierges and their guests at a lovely reception at the festival grounds. The group enjoyed food and wine from Laguna Culinary Arts and admired artist demonstrations before heading to the Laguna Playhouse for the opening night performance of Girls Night: The Musical. Monarch Beach Golf Links
On Friday, May 6, concierges spent a relaxing evening at Monarch Beach Golf Links, hosted by Golf Director Hale Kelly, enjoying drinks and appetizers at the clubhouse overlooking the gorgeous greens. Some also had the chance to golf a few holes with the course’s pros. Then, we took a Best Chauffeured limo bus up PCH to French 75, where new Director of Sales Jonathon Crowell was there to welcome us. On Monday, May 2, House of Blues welcomed concierges to their Rose Terrace for tray-passed appetizers and champagne before the group headed downstairs for a buffet dinner. Director of Sales & Marketing Alexis Haughton and Brand Marketing Manager Rena Farah shared information about the dining and entertainment venue. On Wednesday, March 30, 21 Oceanfront invited concierges from surrounding properties to an Appreciation Night. Attendees sampled jumbo prawns, pasta dishes and assorted cheese and fruit, and toured the new complimentary passenger van. View Full Event

The evening began with with pictures in the photo booth; turns at the blackjack, roulette and craps tables; and glasses of champagne. Next, the group moved into the ballroom for a delicious dinner, followed by awards and raffle prizes. On Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, concierges and their guests enjoyed appetizers, wine and champagne cocktails at French 75 while engaging in Laguna’s First Thursdays Art Walk and paying a visit to nearby gallery Silver Blue & Gold.
