Umami Burger, a gourmet burger restaurant based in Los Angeles, is now open at the Camp in Costa Mesa. The cult restaurant’s menu revolves around the concept of the fifth basic taste known as “umami,” the Japanese term for “pleasant savory taste.” Though menus at Umami vary from location to location in order to best suit the tastes of the surrounding community, guests can expect to find savory creations such as the Truffle Burger made with house-made truffle cheese and truffle glaze and the Hatch Burger topped with four types of green chilies and spicy house cheese.
