Cecile Dress Eva FrancoEva Franco Sample Sale

What better way to spend a weekend in L.A., than go shopping (actually… when isn’t there a good time in L.A. to go shopping). Anyway, I was lucky enough to pop into Eva Franco’s studio last week to peek at some of her Spring designs and outfit myself with a few fabulous dresses, tops and skirts.

I became addicted to Eva a few years ago when a friend directed me to a sample sale she was having on Melrose. When I tried on my first Eva Franco dress there, I knew I’d be hooked forever. It was something about the way her feminine designs teamed with subtle whimsical details and luscious fabrics that made me smile and spin around in the dressing room.

OlympiaI flashed back to that day when I tried on her Olympia dress last week, same giddiness, same smile. You anticipate something fabulous when you check out her designs on a hanger, but it doesn’t really hit until you’re wearing them and all the folds and gathers comes to life—it’s impossible not to look good. I followed the Olympia dress with the Cecile dress, which turned out to be perfect for nights when you need something slightly more smoldering and sophisticated.

You can check out Eva for yourself this weekend at her sample sale Saturday afternoon (11 a.m.-3 p.m.). Find everything you need to turn heads this summer, also check out her 1-of-a-kind rack for rare finds. She’ll be serving champagne and strawberries along with styling tips. Eva Franco Sample Sale, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., 731 S. Spring St. #500, downtown, 213.622.9038. evafranco.com
