Garden of Lights
Through Dec. 30. After the sun goes down in December, the San Diego Botanic Garden in Encinitas is transformed into a dazzling winter wonderland. More than 125,000 sparkling lights illuminate the flora of this fantastic 37-acre urban oasis each evening for a magical holiday experience. Families will also enjoy nightly entertainment, food, hot coffee and treats and a variety of activities including horse-drawn wagon rides, crafts, marshmallow roasting, snow sledding and more. 5-9 p.m. $10 members, $15 non-members.


25 Days of JSixmas
Through Dec 30. Throughout the month of December, this festive event features holiday-themed cocktails and appetizers, holiday music and an Instagram-worthy photo wall. JSix will be decked out in tacky holiday decor making it the perfect spot to celebrate the holidays with friends. Specials include a “Christmas in San Diego” cocktail made with Henebery Whiskey, Malahat Spiced Rum, St. George Nola Coffee Liqueur. 616 J St.



Latin Nights
Dec. 23. Experience Latin Nights at the Gaslamp’s newest nightlife destination. December’s theme is Cuban-inspired, providing a glamorous, avant-garde, cosmopolitan dining and dancing experience. Skating by the Sea

Rady Children’s Ice Rink

The Westgate Christmas Teas
Dec. 22-24.
Guests will gather in the Westgate’s Bordeaux Tea Room for festive treats, handmade delicacies and a variety of holiday themed beverages, while enjoying the soothing sounds of an in-house harpist in an extravagant yet cozy setting that reflects the tradition and beauty of the holidays. 2:30-5 p.m. $50 adults, $35 children. 1055 2nd Ave.




El Chingon
Through Dec. 30. Celebrate the holiday season with sips, spice and everything nice with El Chingon’s new holiday elote, Mexican street corn and Las Posadas cocktail. Las Posadas, named after the traditional nine-day Mexican holiday celebration, is made with Azuñia reposado tequila; agave spiced with cardamom, cinnamon and ginger; lime juice; a float of sparkling wine; and an apple slice garnish. 560 5th Ave.







Havana 1920
Through Dec. 30. 
Have your cake, and cocktails, too, as Havana 1920 offers two new seasonal libations. The Buena Noche cocktail is made with Havana Club Añejo rum, caramelized plantain puree, fresh lime, fresh pressed sugarcane and R&D aromatic #7 bitters. The Havana 1920 Ponche, the restaurant’s version of a classic Puerto Rican punch, is made with Havana Club blanco rum, Brugal 1888 rum, pineapple, lime, passion fruit, guava, orange, R&D house bitters and sparkling wine.  548 5th Ave.



A.R. Valentien
Dec. 24. Christmas Eve promises to be scrumptious at A.R. Valentien at The Lodge at Torrey Pines. Enjoy a prix-fixe four-course meal from renowned executive chef Jeff Jackson in the timbered indoor-outdoor dining room overlooking the 18th hole of Torrey Pines Golf Course. 5-10 p.m. $110 per person or $130 with wine pairings. 11480 N. The Grill

‘The Nutcracker’

Hershey Felder as Irving Berlin

‘A Christmas Carol’
