The 71st annual Mother Goose Parade offers free family fun to start the holiday season.

San Diego Jazz Festival
Nov. 22-26. The 38th annual event celebrates a century of jazz (1917-2017) and features live performances by international artists representing a wide variety of traditional jazz, Dixieland, ragtime, swing and rockabilly styles. Small Business Saturday
Nov. 25. Skip the mall and head to North Park for a local shopping experience like no other. Attendees can purchase locally made finds from shops such as Simply Local, Mimi & Red, Pigment, Art Elexia and more. 11 a.m.-6 p.m. North Park Main Street.






Miracle on 30th Street
Nov. 24-Dec. 24. This holiday season, Polite Provisions will be transformed into Miracle on 30th Street, a pop-up bar offering seasonally-themed cocktails in a festive setting. Guests will enjoy cocktails entitled the Christmopolitan, How the Gimlet Stole Christmas and the Snowball Old Fashioned, among others. Polite Provisions, 4696 30th St.



Lighting of the Forum
Nov. 25. Kick off the holiday season with a festive evening of fun for the whole family. The 15th annual event will feature a live stage show featuring the Crown City Bombers along with Santa’s arrival, holiday light show, magical snowfall and a tree lighting ceremony. Complimentary refreshments will be available after the tree lighting. 6-9 p.m. Free. The Forum Carlsbad, 1923 Calle Barcelona, Carlsbad.




Local Ales and Acoustics
Nov. 25. Guests can head to La Jolla to enjoy live music by Hummingbird Hotel while sipping on a cold, crisp brew from Novo Brazil Brewing Co. The Chula Vista brewery will feature four eclectic beers including the Cookie Muncher, winner of the World’s Best Dark Beer award in 2016 and 2017. 2-6 p.m. Herringbone La Jolla, 7837 Herschel Ave., La Jolla.



Coffee Training Lab Celebration
Nov. 28. Head to Cafe Virtuoso for a pre-opening party and preview of the new coffee training lab that’s being crafted in Barrio Logan, which will offer professional barista and coffee roasting classes before the end of the year. Nov. 23. Indulge in an upscale, exclusive dining experience for Thanksgiving.
