The newly opened Beverly Center location of the Capital Grille is as serious about its award-winning wine selections as it is about it’s revered dry aged steaks and fresh seafood. And now, during their second annual Artist Series Wine Event, the Capital Grille features an exclusive, limited Artist Series Cabernet Sauvingnon with an original piece of artwork as its label, that benefits the Share Our Strength nonprofit to end childhood hunger in America.

George Miliotes, the Capital Grille’s Master Sommelier (one of only 170 in the world), worked with world-class winemaker, Thomas Peffer (Atalon Vineyards, Napa Valley) to select Napa Valley grapes that would result in creamy, boldly textured flavors for the wine they wanted to produce. The result was 1,000 cases of “…a magnificent vintage with ripe fruit flavors, prominent tannin and the complexity and balance expected of a fine Cabernet,” said Miliotes. The Capital Grill donates $25 from the sale of each limited edition $75 bottle to Share Our Strength.

Miliotes travels the winemaking regions of the world looking for selections for the Capital Grille’s wine list that features award-winning wine list of more than 350 selections that includes a “Captain’s List” of some of the world’s most sought after wines, and a “Sommelier’s Selection” of 23 world-class wines that range from $60-$200. When exploring the Sommelier’s Selection find everything from the surprising Avanthia, Godello (Valdeorras) that pairs perfectly with the seared Alaskan halibut with lemon shallot relish; or the Finca Allende, Tempernillo (Rioja) that pairs with the extremely tender cedar planked king salmon, with tomato fennel relish. The Artist Series Cabernet Sauvingnon is a perfect pair with the kona crusted dry aged sirloin with shallot butter; as much as the Pahlmeyer, Proprietary Blend (Napa) and Alto Moncayo, Aquilon, Garnacha (Campo de Borja) are with the lollipop lamb chops with cherry mustard.
