L.A. Markets Offer Farm Fresh Cuisine

Two new Los Angeles restaurant concepts fuse casual but upscale dining with gourmet markets.

FarmShop Santa MonicaFrom former Thomas Keller Group culinary director Jeffrey Cerciello, FarmShop (225 26th St., Santa Monica, 310.566.2400) has opened at the Brentwood Country Mart with a restaurant offering artisanal California dishes, plus a bakery. The market, opening imminently, will sell cheese, charcuterie, prepared foods, wine, beer and housewares. Downtown Culver City’s L’Epicerie Market (9900 Culver Blvd., Culver City, 310.815.1600) is a French-inspired cafe-shop combo. The restaurant’s eclectic dinner menu might include beef bourguignon or housemade chicken wings confit; it also serves breakfast and lunch. The retail component offers more than 150 wines and European food items, plus a tasting bar for sampling wine, cheese and charcuterie.
