Café 222

A line out the door tells you that this dog-friendly downtown breakfast and lunch spot is worth the wait. Don’t worry, it doesn’t take long to get a table—there’s plenty of seating inside and out. For 16 years, Café 222’s quirky charm (cup-and-saucer chandeliers, mismatched plates) and creative cuisine (Porky Benedict, Orange-Pecan Pancakes) have made it a local favorite. The chef/owner, who’s been featured on the Food Network, describes the menu selections as updated versions of what your mom used to make. With a new menu announced this summer make sure you wakey wakey, it’s time for breaky. B, L (daily).
