The Literacy Project’s annual fundraising event brings together philanthropists, literacy experts and supporters of education to give the gift of literacy to at-risk students performing below English proficiency. Sept. 15. Mission San Juan Capistrano presents its benefit gala on the beautiful mission grounds. The black-tie event includes a candlelight dinner hosted by the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, and a concert by Grammy and Tony Award winner Heather Headley.
