Nov. 5. Enjoy brews, music and food under the sun for the second annual Balboa Craft Beer Festival. The seaside location features 15 breweries serving 30 craft beers; along with unlimited food from local restaurants on the Newport Beach peninsula. Breweries include Left Coast Brewery, Barley Forge, Kona Brewing Company, among others. The Trough Sandwich Kitchen, Cruisers Pizza Bar Grill and Newport Landing Restaurant & Oyster Bar are a few of the participating restaurants. Nov. 5. Welcome the holiday season with Discovery Cube’s annual Pumpkin Launch. The event is filled with hands-on challenges, flying pumpkins launched by giant trebuchets and family-friendly activities. Compete and apply your engineering skills to create pumpkin catapults to launch pumpkins at targets. Medieval costumes, weapons and weaving materials, as well as other artifacts from the medieval ages, will also be on display. Nine gourmet food trucks on-site offer a variety of culinary selections. The format for the invitational is a four-player best-ball with unique activities and challenges peppered across the 18-hole course.
