You’re the boss of your burger (and your fries) at Burger Boss—the build-your-own-burger chain that offers diners grass-fed, cage-free and locally sourced ingredients to completely customize their meal. The Corona-based restaurant has opened its first Orange County outpost in Mission Viejo with a second location in Lake Forest slated to open in August. Four more Orange County locations are in the works to be open by 2017.

Customize your own fries at Burger Boss

The made-to-order burgers begin with your choice of bun and protein. Appealing to foodies and health-conscious diners alike, the fast-casual concept offers gluten-free buns, wheat-grain buns and even lettuce wraps or spinach bowls. Choose between grass-fed 100 percent chuck beef, cage-free chicken breast filet, natural ground turkey breast or a house-made vegan black bean patty. Get creative with additional options that include seven types of premium domestic cheeses such as gouda and dolce provolone, 15 sauces (sweet chili, cajun buffalo and garlic herb mayo to name a few) and 13 condiments ranging from tomatoes and green olives to grilled pineapple and turkey bacon. You can order your fries (or sweet potato fries) in the exact same manner—load them up with aged sharp cheddar cheese sauce and various toppings or simply grab a sauce for dipping.
