Memorial Day officially kicks off a summer season of stellar events in Los Angeles. Here are our picks for the best things to do in LA Memorial Day weekend.

Topanga Days
May 23-25. Celebrate music, the arts and the work of local artisans at the 42nd annual Topanga Days. Spend the weekend listening to live music on two stages, while discovering art, jewelry and clothing from local artisans. Fiesta Hermosa
May 23-25. This semiannual festival, which calls itself the “largest arts and crafts fair in Southern California,” features more than 300 artists and crafters as well as food, live music, a “kiddie carnival,” a beer and wine garden and more. 10 am-6 pm. Barnsdall Friday Night Wine Tastings
May 22-Sept. 4. Enjoy evenings of fine wine and art in the gardens of Frank Lloyd Wright’s newly renovated Hollyhock House. The weekly event features four selections of boutique, small production, artisan wines from Silverlake Wine, music by KCRW’s DJs and a host of specialty food trucks and more, including  curator-led tours of the recently reopened Hollyhock House. 2nd Annual MAINopoly: A Taste of Main Street
May 24. Experience the best food and drink offerings along Santa Monica’s Main Street during the interactive community event that mirrors the classic board game. Exchange special MAINopoly dollars for food tastings like fresh fish ceviche from Enterprise Fish Co., gelato samples from Dolcenero Gelato, tuna tartare from Areal Restaurant, cold press juice samples from Pressed Juicery and more. Select restaurants will also be offering drink specials, including $4 draft beers and $5 cocktails and $5 shots for those with the official event wristband. You can also opt for the “Go to Jail” VIP lounge and Beer Garden sponsored by Shock Top with a DJ, photo booth, drinks, food, picnic tables, games and more. ShipKicker Country Music Fest at Queen Mary
May 23-24. See country music favorites including Parmalee, Dustin Lynch, The Railers, CJ Simmons, Pawnshop Cowboys, Justin Lee, Scotty Mac Band and more. The Brig’s Crawfest

Valley Greek Festival
May 23-25. Experience the best of Greece in L.A.. Fill up on Greek cuisine and pastries like gyros, spanakopita, baklava, lamb chops, roasted chicken and more, including Greek wine, beer and coffee. Rooftop BBQ at the Peninsula Beverly Hills
May 22-Sept. 5. Summer weekends bring a special BBQ menu to the poolside Roof Garden restaurant at the Peninsula Beverly Hills. Katana’s Red Sun BBQ
May 24-Sept. 6. Spend Sunday summer nights dining on a special menu from the Sunset Strip restaurant paired with speciality cocktails and DJ tunes. May 24-28. Celebrate the West Hollywood cocktail spot’s first birthday with a menu of specially-priced rotating beverage and food offerings, culminating in a soiree complete with a live burlesque performance. The party starts on May 24 with a a $25 all-you-can-eat festive pig roast, followed by $1 cocktail specials available daily, leading up to the official anniversary party at the end of the week. Dominick’s Crawfish Boil
May 23. Celebrated West Hollywood Italian eatery Dominick’s brings back a festive local favorite: its annual crawfish boils. Drawing upon his New Orleans heritage, Chef Brandon Boudet takes over the eatery’s patio to boil Louisiana crawfish. In addition to the crawfish, diners can enjoy a selection of Boudet’s Big Easy-inspired dishes, including Creole pork meatballs, soft shell crab Po’ Boy, crawfish boil artichokes with remoulade and boozy Sno Balls.
