Ole Henriksen Face/Body Spa in West Hollywood
Ole Henriksen Face/Body Spa’s individually tailored Calmative Complexion Treatment soothes and repairs even the most stubborn skin. If you’re looking for something fun and relaxing to do in LA, why not pamper yourself?
Some people break out or look haggard when they’re stressed; others experience increased sensitivity. Lucky me: I experience all three simultaneously. In my quest for a balanced complexion, I turned to Ole Henriksen Face/Body Spa in West Hollywood, which counts Academy Award winners such as Halle Berry and Charlize Theron as clients. It’s definitely one of the best spas to do in LA! The spa’s Calmative Complexion Treatment soothes and repairs various conditions including eczema, sunburn, rash and allergic reaction, and is individually tailored to each client’s needs, making it a great choice for my combination skin.
After loosening up in the co-ed steam room, I surrendered myself to Angela Caglia, a skilled esthetician with a disarming bedside manner. First, Caglia cleansed my skin using products from Henriksen’s botanically based skincare line and assessed my skin’s condition. Then, she gently went to work bearing newfangled tools from Denmark including the vibrating, collagen-building Novasonic and an icing/heating wand designed to stimulate blood flow and close pores. As an azulene mask calmed facial redness, Caglia massaged my knotted-up neck and shoulders and I confessed all of the sins I’d committed against my skin, from teenage sunbathing to utter neglect. I must have pleaded my case convincingly, as she also let me test-drive a HydraFacial (not normally included in this service). One of the spa’s most popular treatments, the HydraFacial gently exfoliates with suction while delivering a hydrating serum. At the end, Caglia applied vitamin C serum followed by sunscreen and sent me on my way with a face so dewy I couldn’t resist snapping a few self-portraits.
